More than half of NFL players wear prada, the French brand with ties to French fashion.
It also has ties to Italian fashion house LVMH and American clothing company Ralph Lauren.
But some NFL players are a bit more obscure in the prada world.
The league does not release the full list of NFL owners, but a person familiar with the league’s thinking says the top five are: Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, New York Jets owner Woody Johnson, Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti, Cincinnati Bengals owner Mike Brown and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, the league office’s chief executive officer, said in a statement the league is “looking into” whether any NFL players may have violated the anti-discrimination policies of the leagues and its players union.
Prada’s website does not disclose its ownership structure.
“While we’re unable to disclose the names of any of our NFL players, we can confirm that there are a handful of players who have worn Prada eyecups,” the site says.
“In addition, we are actively investigating a number of instances where players have worn the Prada collection, which is a reflection of the vast array of brands Prada has been in the business for more than 20 years.”
Prada is the latest name in a long line of French brands that have made headlines.
Last year, French designer L’Oreal was fined $200,000 after it said it would boycott the 2017 London Olympics over its use of Prada makeup.
A French court found that the company had discriminated against two black women in a case involving the company’s Prada brand.
The company was ordered to pay $1.3 million to each of them.
And last year, Prada unveiled its own line of luxury eyewash in China.
But its global sales are dwarfed by that of the NFL.
In 2016, the NFL sold about 7 million tickets for its games, according to a report by the league.
But NFL revenues totaled about $11.4 billion.
In 2014, the National Football League reported a profit of $1 billion.
