From the start, solar eyewashes have been an idea that seems to come and go at the whim of people.
But, in a world where solar power and energy storage are becoming the hottest energy technologies, the idea that solar power could be a viable option for the future is starting to feel like a real possibility.
“The reality is, the demand for solar power is increasing, so we need to keep up with that,” says Pauline Wilson, CEO of solar power specialist SolarPower Australia.
“If we can keep up the demand and reduce the cost of solar PV power, it would be great.”
The cost of a solar power system can vary, depending on the type of system you are using, but a typical system for a home uses between $4,000 and $8,000.
In Australia, this translates into a cost of about $1,600 per kilowatt hour.
That’s still a small fraction of the cost a solar system can make in the future, but it is a fraction of what it used to be.
So far, a large number of Australian solar power systems have been built, but the majority of them are in the middle of nowhere, in remote areas.
They have to be in good locations, with access to a wide variety of power sources.
“I have seen people with a large amount of solar equipment, but not enough solar capacity,” Wilson says.
“They have solar panels on the roof, but they have nothing to power them.
They’re not even sure if they’re connected.”
The biggest problem, says Wilson, is that most people have no idea what to do with their power.
There are solar panels, but what do you do with the electricity?
There are plenty of solar panels out there for everyone to buy, but most people don’t know what they are or what they can do with them.
“We can only make sense of it from a technology point of view, and not from a cost point of point of value,” she says.
In other words, solar panels aren’t worth much when they are a few dollars a year, and that’s assuming they are connected to the grid.
There is an even bigger problem with solar panels.
Wilson says that many people, when asked how much they would pay for a solar panel, don’t even think about the cost.
“Many people don.
It’s so common that we have people saying, ‘If I’m going to go to a beach and buy solar panels for $10 each, I’m not going to worry about it.’
They might have thought about it.
But that doesn’t mean that they actually want to do it,” she explains.
“There’s a huge disconnect when people ask, ‘Well, what about the energy cost?’.

The most popular brands are solar power, wind, and hydropower, and these companies are often very vague about the technologies they are using.
That leaves consumers to guess, and guess again.
“Most people don of course know what to expect,” says Wilson.
“But people can get misled by what they see on the packaging.
They might be getting solar panels from the local retailer, and then they are looking at the label and not really understanding what it’s actually about.”
So what can you do if you’re buying a solar module?
There is no simple solution for all of the above, so if you are looking to buy a solar energy system, you need to know the technology and the way it works.
Wilson points out that a solar PV system can produce a lot of power, but that it doesn’t need to be that efficient.
It can be as much as 50 per cent efficient, which means that the system can run for up to 10 years.
“In Australia, the solar industry is based around large scale installations, so the average installed size is about 400 metres.
The average installation size is around 600 metres.
So, in that context, you can get a very efficient solar system.
But you need a system that can handle a large power load.”
To do that, you will need to think about where the energy is coming from, and where it is going to be used.
Wilson believes that the biggest misconception is that you can go out and buy a new solar system for $1 million and have it work.
The solar industry doesn’t like to advertise that they have something that is going out there and being installed for $500,000,” she said.
“It’s really difficult to get that level of performance out there, especially in the market, because there is not a lot to go around.”
