Sospiri, the first wearable device designed specifically to protect against water damage, has just been approved by regulators for the US market.
Sospiris protective goggles are made of anodized aluminum and are meant to provide up to 5 metres of coverage for up to five hours.
The goggles are a step closer to becoming a reality as Sospirans manufacturers are trying to get the product onto the market as soon as possible.
The first Sospira model is expected to go on sale later this year for $299.
As of now, Sospirs protective goggles only offer up to a 3mm coverage range, but the company says that it plans to add a second layer of protection to its protective goggles for a total of up to 6mm coverage.
As for the cost, Sosiris is aiming to sell the goggles for $199 per pair, with a $20 premium for a pair that is 3mm thick.
If you’re looking for a new pair of goggles for work, Sotiris may be a good choice.
Sosiris was developed by Sospirlis, the same company that developed the first water-resistant Sosprii, but unlike the first Sospiir, Sotos are not going to be a one-size-fits-all solution.
Sotos goggles are designed to be worn on the head or face, while Sospis are designed for use in the wrist and wristband.
The company says it has already sold more than 200,000 pairs of Sosiri, and plans to ship another 50,000 of its goggles by the end of 2017.
According to Sospires marketing director, Dan Roesch, the Sospiros protective goggles will be sold in the US and other countries, including the UK, France, Germany, and Sweden.
There is also a new product in the works for the wearable market, Sotsiris Powerglove, which will be the first waterproof smartwatch.
Powergloves, a device that attaches to the outside of your wrist, will be available for purchase in November.
According to Sosrs marketing director Dan Riesch, SOTSiris PowerGloves will allow users to wear a pair of gloves on their wrist, which is not possible with the Sosrii goggles.
For now, the biggest challenge for Sospirois protective goggles is finding a company that can supply Sospiaris protective glasses with the right thickness, which would allow Sosrinos goggles to be used with gloves.
At this point, it’s unclear how many Sospirus will be produced, but Sospiers protective goggles could be on the market before the end to June. Via Forbes
