New York (AP) Carmelo “Coney Island” Anthony, the Knicks’ all-time leading scorer, was traded to the Golden State Golden State on Thursday night, in a deal that was the latest in a flurry of moves that have taken place in the NBA in the wake of Carmelo’s retirement.
Anthony was traded from the Knicks to the Warriors for the rights to James Harden and Chris Bosh, who are expected to join the Warriors on their trip to the West Coast this week.
The move to Golden Staters makes them the only team without a player on the NBA’s All-Star roster and moves the Warriors’ alltime winning percentage to 20-4.
James Harden is the only player from his first four NBA seasons to appear on the All-Time Team, but he is now the only member of the team to have not appeared on the team since the 2015-16 season.
The Knicks are just 4-8 on the season and 0-10 in the West, where they play the Los Angeles Clippers, San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Warriors have won just three of their last 11 games in the playoffs.
Harden had led the NBA with 18.3 points per game in the regular season.
He is averaging 20.0 points on 53.7 percent shooting in the postseason.
The Bulls have lost three of four games, with the latest loss coming on Friday night at Memphis.
Chicago has won five of the last six meetings with the Knicks, including all three meetings in the 2014-15 season.
New York is in the midst of a rebuild that includes a trade for Carmelo and a blockbuster deal for guard Chris Bosh that landed guard Jimmy Butler.
The Lakers are also rebuilding after losing four of their final five games, and they face a tough stretch of games against the Knicks and Spurs, which both have winning records.
